We have a very similar Nuthatch to this, and occasionally we get one on the bird table. That is always a treat. You have caught the essence of Nuthatch here
we have some small Chickadees here already Care... but the Red Breasted Nuthatch have not braves the cold yet... i like the image with the arches behind the bird in the second image....petersmile
Very like the European nuthatch.
l see that the "hatch" is obsolete Middle English - meaning "hack", so really we ought to call them Nutcrackers smile
