Tangled Up and Blue

This stream that runs from my pond is owned by two landowners according to fencing along the way. No one has cleaned up any fallen logs and the same silt that flooded my pond, ran downstream and filled the stream.  There are pools and small waterways but years ago I could walk through to Orwell Bay. The stream now ends in the woods.  So sad!

You have presented it as a place of great beauty, Care.
Care MacADNski: I have walked here for 35 years and it was indeed beautiful. It is wrecked and dry now.
This is so nice- I'd enjoy walking here!
Another goody!
Care MacADNski: I love walking in here. It was first hikes for the kids.

Put some beavers in there, they'll sort it all out!
Care MacADNski: My neighbour killed the beavers who settled across from me. Two ponds and the stream are fed from a spring. The other pond was dug illegally 30 years ago. The spring now fills that pond before it reaches me or the stream.
That's a shame. It does look very nice to walk here
Care MacADNski: It is beautiful light. These are taken in late afternoon sun.

It really should be cleared.
Care MacADNski: Absolutely. The problem is the steepness and access.
Looks as though they've just left it to nature, possibly at your ponds expense!
Care MacADNski: This is past my pond. An illegally dug pond 30 years ago is what did all the damage to the pond and stream on my side.
That's a shame, but what remains makes a nice pic.
Care MacADNski: It has had quite a life.

Is your pond a spring then, Care?
Care MacADNski: It starts as a spring, yes. It did feed into Orwell Bay but now ends in the woods because of siltation caused by a pond built across the road from me.

Do the blockages cause flooding on your property, Care? Presumable with nowhere for the water to go, then it simply backs up?
Care MacADNski: No, not at all. This would be the highest it gets.
it is sad that you can no longer walk along the path to the Bay Care... the owners ignored it... so nature took it over....petersmile
Care MacADNski: It is quite a steep ravine and only wood access on both sides. A difficult situation.
