photoblog image French Garden

French Garden

In memory of Richard Standley.

Years ago Richard sent me a package of seeds for mache, a salad green.

Some years it lives through the winter.

On the left between two rusty markers is french tarragon.

Keeping the countries together, you know....:-)

In memory of my mother today too, on her birthday.

She fits into the French garden most perfectly.

Don't mind the messy but delicious (to the plants) compost.

Nicely done Care, I was only thinking about Richard the other day, a nice man. R.I.P Richard, and your Mother also.
Care MacADNski: Thank you, Frank. Richard died very young as did my mother who was 60. Both too young.
How wonderful - what a lovely memorial. And such a beautiful rendition of that touching song.
Care MacADNski: Thank you, Eliz abeth. Both died too young.
It is a nice rendition. We tend to hear the lyrics more in the ballad style.

No ice or snow to be seen!
Care MacADNski: Heck, no. I need my lawn mowed.

Life goes on doesn't it..
Care MacADNski: We are at the age where they are weeding in our row. New babies are being born too but I sure am losing a lot of friends.
I remember Richard well and his Saturday strolls. He seemed such a nice man
Care MacADNski: He was very nice. His daughter Anne posted here too for a while.

It was very sad what happened to Richard Standley.
Care MacADNski: Yes, his disease progressed very quickly.
How strange, I've been thinking about Richard over the last few days because with all the local walks I've done during the lockdown I have a lot of images I am planning to post at weekends of where Maureen and I walked. I so much enjoyed all his posts and he is a man I know I would have enjoyed meeting.
Care MacADNski: I mentioned him to you a few weeks back about a pathway you had shown.
i was very close with Richard... we would take me on Une promenade le samedi matin...Care...
he is missed....petersmile
Care MacADNski: He was very kind and loved his garden like I did.

Also nice to have a memory of the departed. I lost my dad five years ago today.
Care MacADNski: What a coincidence, on my mom's birthday. My dad died the same day Eliz and Frank got married.
A lovely man - well-remembered.
Care MacADNski: Yes he loved the outdoors.
